Finding Nemo
There is a scene in the movie, "Finding Nemo", in which a little fish is lost, far from home, and losing hope. Then, all of a sudden, a pelican crashes into a window and says he has some good news. He tells little Nemo that his dad is on the way. At first, Nemo doesn't believe him. The pelican says to Nemo that his dad has been swimming the entire ocean, battling three sharks, going through a jellyfish forest, and going down to the very depths of the ocean to get you back. When Nemo hears that, his eyes light up, and he has hope again and tries a daring escape. This story reminds me of what Jesus did for us. He left His heavenly home and raced across the universe to be born a baby at Bethlehem. He fought Satan for forty days in the wilderness and won. He took on the religious leaders of that time and pointed out their hypocrisy and blindness to the truth. He suffered under Roman persecution and yet laid down His life on a cross for our sins. Then, He is raised again to life, and goes back to His heavenly home to prepare a place for us, and promised His soon return. The Bible gives us a summary in Isaiah 9:6. It states, " For unto us a child is born(Bethlehem), unto us a son is given(The Cross): and the government shall be upon his shoulder(Second Coming): and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Notice, how Isaiah describes Jesus as the Mighty God and the Everlasting Father. Jesus was not a god, but The Mighty God and Father. Finally, Jesus said unto the religious leaders, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." John 8:58. Jesus was saying that 2,000 years ago when Abraham was born, Jesus existed. There is no doubt that Jesus was God, The Son.
